In this article I will explain you what you have to do when you are in the Trossachs.The Trossachs is a region of Scotland that is also a national park. The Trossachs is famous for its many lochs (loch Lomond, loch Katrine, …). In this article I will not speak about loch Lomond because I want to explain to you things you might not know.
If you stay for a couple of days then hire bikes. There is the road 7 for bikes that goes through the Trossachs.
Around lock Katrine
What to do ?
When you are in loch Katrine there are a lot of things to do.
Bike
- With your bikes you can go on the steamship and go from one side of the loch to the other side. Then to come back you cycle back. By bike it is 14 miles (22,4 Km). If you do not have bikes you can hire one at lock Katrine.
Walk
- BEN ANN. By foot you can do Ben Ann that is a walk of 5 Km that will take you between 2-3 hours. You start at the parking called Ben Ann. From the parking walk across the road and you will see a path and walk up this path. The rocks form some stairs. You will pass on top of a bridge. Continue the path. Then you will arrive to a steep bit. Once you will have done that bit you will be able to see lock Katrine. Once you arrived to the sommet you will be able to see three locks.
- BEN VENUE. By foot it will take you six hours to do it. If I were you I would do Ben Ann. To do Ben Venue you start at the parking called Ben Venue. It will take you 3 hours to reach the sommet from the top you can see four lochs.

Around Callander
What to do ?
Bike
- Road 7. You can go from Callander to Strathyre it is 9 miles (14,4 Km). Start at the main street of Callander and take the bridge towards the river and you will see a post written road 7 to Strathyre. Continue the road 7 until Strathyre.
Walk
- Ben Ledi. This walk will take you 5 hours. To go to ben Ledi you start at the bridge were it is written Strathyre Forest Holidays. You will see a path in front of the bridge. Take this path. Once you are nearly arrived at the top you will see a metal cross in memory of a rescuer that died on a mountain that is next to Ben Ledi.

- Callander is one of the biggest towns in The trossachs and it has around 3 000 inhabitants.
Around Aberfoyle
What to do ?
Car
- THE FOREST DRIVE. The forest drive is a road that passes through the forests which gives you super views on loch Achrey. If you can’t walk it is a very good alternative. It takes by car from 15 to 30 min.
- THE ABERFOYLE INFO CENTER. It is a huge center where you can find out a lot of information about The Trossachs. There is also “GO APE” a treetop adventure parc that has a zip line that passes on top of a lake. It is a superbe experience.
